Teaser Tuesday #7

acourtofthornsandrosesteasertuesday

Yay! It’s Teaser Tuesday time. It’s been a few weeks since I last did one of these so I’m excited! I’m also finally reading ACOTAR which I’m really enjoying so far. I’ve already fallen in love with Sarah J. Maas’ writing. Great writing, fantasy, faeries; I need more books like that in my life.

“I turned to her, opening my mouth.

But there was a roar that half deafened me, and my sisters screamed as snow burst into the room and an enormous, growling shape appeared in the doorway.”

I picked something from the beginning because I didn’t want to spoil anything for myself haha. 🙈

I hope all of you have a lovely Tuesday! 😊

Teaser Tuesday #6

I’m finally on Glass Sword! When I first read Red Queen last year this was one of my most anticipated reads for 2016. It still is, I just got caught up in other stuff and never got around to reading it when it first released. I’m getting to it now! I also really hope I don’t spoil anything for myself while doing this teaser haha.

My Review/Recommendation for Red Queen [here]

“I cling to Cal, Kilorn, Shade, to saving all the newbloods I can, because I am afraid of waking up to emptiness, to a place where my friends and family are gone and I am nothing but a single bolt of lighting in the blackness of a lonely storm.

If I am a sword, I am a sword made of glass, and I feel myself beginning to shatter.”

Teaser Tuesday #5

So I’ve majorly slacked on reading this week and haven’t finished Red Queen; which I’ve decided I’m not going to do a full review of but rather a recommendation type post once I’m finished. The reason being is that I couldn’t figure out how exactly to review a book where I previously read it and so knew what happened. I usually review right after I finish a book for the first time because it helps me process the book and I like reviewing rawly because it’s when I’m the most in-tune with my thoughts on the book and the book itself. It’s been so long since I first read Red Queen that I’ve already processed it and feel like my review would just be full of spoilers and I don’t want my review to be full of spoilers. Nonetheless I love the book so I’m definitely going to do a recommendation post once I finish it. Which brings me to today’s Teaser Tuesday! Since I haven’t finished Red Queen I’m cheating today and pulling a random book off my shelf that I haven’t read to do a teaser of. Well here it goes…

“I rob libraries too, I’ll have you know. And I have two good reasons for this” -his eyes narrow as he considers-“collection.”

“You want to have a standby profession in case being a king doesn’t work out?” I guess, smiling, even as I realize how truthful it might be.”

-Page 185, Hardcover, Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch

That was longer than two sentences. Oops. I guess I’m breaking all the rules today? Haha. But seriously I liked what I opened up to so much that I had to use the full part and it didn’t give anything away so… I actually can’t wait to finally crack open this book once I finish with my current top TBR (Glass Sword, The Problem With Forever, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and A Court of Mist and Fury)!

I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday! 🙂

Teaser Tuesday #3

It’s Teaser Tuesday time again! I’m enjoying this a lot because of the fact that it keeps me reading a book a week consistently. This week I’m rereading Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard so that I can finally get around to reading Glass Sword. I definitely need the refresher because it’s been about a year if not longer since I read the first book and I hate going into sequels and not having a clue what is going on because of the fact that it was so long since I read the previous book. Anyway, I’m loving it as much as I did the first time around and I plan on writing up a review for it once I’m finished since I never formally reviewed it. 🙂

I hope you’re all having a lovely Tuesday!

Teaser Tuesday #2

For some reason my brain thought today was Monday instead of Tuesday. I guess it’s just one of those weeks! So far I’ve been keeping up with my May TBR nicely as I’m now reading The Winner’s Kiss; which I hope to finish before next Tuesday. I’m really enjoying this series and don’t want to say too much since I’m on the final book but I highly recommend them to anyone who hasn’t yet had the chance to pick them up. 🙂

“I’m your friend. That much, you can know for certain.”

I may have spoiled some things for myself by doing this. Oops. That’s what happens when you have no spoiler impulse control and you open up a book to a random page and see something that catches your eye. I don’t think it was anything too important though!

Teaser Tuesday #1

Starting off my blog goals with this! I’ve seen two others doing Teaser Tuesday and I decided I wanted to join in because I love the idea. Although I’ve only just started reading The Winner’s Crime, so here’s to hoping I don’t spoil anything for myself! Thus far this series is becoming one of my favorites. It’s full of strong characters, a unique world, and suspense. It gives me Game of Thrones vibes and also makes me think of vikings. I really love books with an older feel like that. I highly recommend The Winner’s Curse(review|goodreads) if you’ve not read it and especially if you love the soilders, empire, battles, swords, horses type of fantasy sprinkled with a tad bit of romance.

“She could have asked why he had summoned her to dinner, and where the prince might be, but Kestrel had seen how the emperor loved to shape silence into a tool that pried open the anxieties of others. She let the silence grow until it was of her making as well as his, and only when the third course arrived did she speak.”

-Page 6, hardcover, The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski

I opened it into the beginning of the book as to not spoil myself or others. Probably the least spoilery quote for anyone who hasn’t read The Winner’s Cruse too.
