Torn between duty and survival, nothing can be the same.
Everything Ivy Morgan thought she knew has been turned on its head. After being betrayed and then nearly killed by the Prince of the Fae, she’s left bruised and devastated—and with an earth-shattering secret that she must keep at all costs. And if the Order finds out her secret, they’ll kill her.
Then there’s Ren Owens, the sexy, tattooed Elite member of the Order who has been sharing Ivy’s bed and claiming her heart. Their chemistry is smoking hot, but Ivy knows that Ren has always valued his duty to the Order above all else—he could never touch her if he knew the truth. That is, if he let her live at all. Yet how can she live with herself if she lies to him?
But as the Fae Prince begins to close in on Ivy, intent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld, Ivy is running out of options. If she doesn’t figure out who she can trust—and fast—it’s not only her heart that will be torn apart, but civilization itself.
Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans…
Don’t miss the first title in the series, WICKED, now just $.99 for a limited time only!
Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.
Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.
But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my all time favorite authors so I’m incredibly excited and honored to have been able to be a part of this cover reveal. ❤️
Plus look at that gorgeous cover! I love it. 😍
““Sleeping with married men doesn’t bother me as much as not having a place to live does.”
Kaley Monroe lived a life of privilege until her father went to prison four years ago and all of her family’s assets were seized by the federal government. Fending for herself, she relied on what comes naturally to her—her beauty. Having sex for money isn’t glamorous or ideal, but it’s manageable. She doesn’t expect life to show her any mercy, and she won’t live in ignorance.
It’s not until Kip Foster is released from prison that her life starts to feel complicated. Somehow, Kip unearths desires in Kaley that she never knew she had. A desire to be more, to feel more, and…to be loved more. However, lies by omission are the most dangerous secrets, and they refuse to remain hidden.
Sometimes, easy isn’t always a choice.”
Rachel Schneider is from a small town in South Louisiana. When she’s not replying sarcastically to her husband or trying to sneak in cuddles with her daughter, she’s writing about life, love, and things unexpected. But let’s be real…she’s probably on Facebook. Her debut novel, Taking Mine, is currently available on Amazon, and her second novel, Forfeiting Decency, will be out Nov. 2016.
In walks the distraction: Justin. An annoyingly good-looking guy who pushes her to not give up on her dreams, even when things don’t go as planned.”
Okay so I’m kind of in love with this cover. It’s absolutely gorgeous! 😍
So I really love The Bone Season. I love it like ‘holy crap it’s one of my all time favorite series ever, binge read new books in a few days, and need the next one asap’ love. So of course I was eagerly (obsessively) anticipating the cover reveal for The Song Rising.
We got news, via Samantha Shannon’s twitter, this week that not only were we getting a cover reveal but that there was also going to be a new cover design for the third book and also a re-design for the first and second book. I was a tad bit skeptical because I love the original covers. However…
LOOK AT THOSE COVERS!
THEY ARE BOTH ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! ❤
I love how understated, yet powerful they made them. They’re definitely less busy than the original covers, which is oddly nice (even though I still love the original covers and always will). I especially love the US TSR cover because of the color fade and how the words really pop off of it (I also live in the US and since that’s the cover for the one I’ll be buying I must admit I’m biased haha.).
I’m really looking forward to tomorrows reveal of the re-designed covers for The Bone Season and The Mime Order. I’m sure they’re both going to be as equally as gorgeous and I’m definitely going to have to rebuy them to go with The Song Rising!
The Song Rising is to be released in March 2017.
Side Note: The spines for TBS, TMO, and TSR match. So if you don’t want to spend the money on the new covers they still look really good together. ❤
If you’ve yet to have the chance the pick up The Bone Season or The Mime Order or are on the fence about whether you want to read them I highly recommend them. They really are amazing books and Samantha Shannon’s writing is incredible.
It’s only 9am and already an exciting day for great book news! Although one part happened while I was sleeping, ah timezones. It’s not even halfway through 2016 and all of the book releases that has brought/will bring and I’m already eagerly anticipating 2017 and the book releases it is going to bring.
I can’t even being to articulate how much in love I am with Samantha Shannon’s The Bone Season series. The synopsis for the first book drew me in and then while reading the book the whole world she created latched on and didn’t let go. I picked up the first book around a year before the second books release and devoured it in three days. Honestly if you’ve not yet read this series and you love a book with a strong female heroine, a cast of characters each so unique you’ll never forget about them, a world that is so corrupt yet compelling at the same time to the point where you want to dive in a learn everything you can about it, and characters that have interesting powers then go pick it up. That’s honestly not even half of what these books are they’re so much more than that, I’m just terrible at book recommendation summaries.
Synopsis for The Bone Season (source):
“The year is 2059. Nineteen-year-old Paige Mahoney is working in the criminal underworld of Scion London, based at Seven Dials, employed by a man named Jaxon Hall. Her job: to scout for information by breaking into people’s minds. For Paige is a dreamwalker, a clairvoyant and, in the world of Scion, she commits treason simply by breathing.
It is raining the day her life changes for ever. Attacked, drugged and kidnapped, Paige is transported to Oxford – a city kept secret for two hundred years, controlled by a powerful, otherworldly race. Paige is assigned to Warden, a Rephaite with mysterious motives. He is her master. Her trainer. Her natural enemy. But if Paige wants to regain her freedom she must allow herself to be nurtured in this prison where she is meant to die.”
Now for the first teaser for book three, The Song Rising, that Samantha Shannon posted on her twitter….
Those of you who have read the first two books know that The Song Rising was supposed to be released this year but was pushed back until March 2017. Which is torture after The Mime-Order’s ending. THAT CLIFFHANGER AND PLOT TWIST! However, at the same time that just means The Song Rising is probably going to be a million times better than we’re anticipating. Still torture waiting for it though.
So far we’ve gotten a small synopsis; (source)
“On the eve of a new decade, after two hundred years of Scion rule, a revolution is beginning. Its unlikely cradle is the clairvoyant underworld in London, and even an old ally’s betrayal cannot stop it.
But an enemy from Paige Mahoney’s past is about to return – an enemy that could quench the flame of hope for good . . .”
And now this lovely teaser! Which I’ve been freaking out over. I know, I know it’s not much but when you’ve been waiting for a book for over a year it’s amazing. It makes me that much more excited for this book. I need it! I don’t think I can wait until 2017. THE SUSPENSE! I’m terrible at waiting for books.
Now we need a cover. I can’t wait until they do a cover reveal for this! I’m eagerly anticipating it and will probably post a freak out over it on here when they do.
I had heard that Veronica Roth, author of one of my favorite series (a series I’ve still not recovered my heart from), was working on something new. Although this is the first I’ve really seen information wise about the book. I guess they decided to just dump it out all at once? We got a title, cover revel, fuller synopsis, and a full excerpt just this morning! Who else is rolling in excitement right now?
I mean look at that cover! It’s absolutely gorgeous. Veronica Roth’s new book has been titled Carve The Mark. It’s going to be a scfi, fantasy, violence, and vengeance kind of story. Which is exactly my piece of cake lately!
The synopsis has definitely intrigued me (source);
“On a planet where violence and vengeance rule, in a galaxy where some are favored by fate, everyone develops a currentgift, a unique power meant to shape the future. While most benefit from their currentgifts, Akos and Cyra do not — their gifts make them vulnerable to others’ control. Can they reclaim their gifts, their fates, and their lives, and reset the balance of power in this world?
Cyra is the sister of the brutal tyrant who rules the Shotet people. Cyra’s currentgift gives her pain and power — something her brother exploits, using her to torture his enemies. But Cyra is much more than just a blade in her brother’s hand: she is resilient, quick on her feet, and smarter than he knows.
Akos is from the peace-loving nation of Thuve, and his loyalty to his family is limitless. Though protected by his unusual currentgift, once Akos and his brother are captured by enemy Shotet soldiers, Akos is desperate to get his brother out alive — no matter what the cost. When Akos is thrust into Cyra’s world, the enmity between their countries and families seems insurmountable. They must decide to help each other to survive — or to destroy one another.”
Carve the Mark is set to be released January 17th, 2017. I for one am extremely excited and can’t wait to get my hands on another book by the wonderful Veronica Roth. Here’s to hoping she won’t completely smash my heart again! Who am I kidding, I’ll probably love it even if she does.
The excerpt from Carve the Mark that was released can be found on EW (here).
What books are you guys excited for that are going to be released in 2017? Besides these two I’m most anticipating Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare! Especially after the ending for Lady Midnight. 2017 is just too far away!
