I read more this month than I have in awhile!
So, in February I had every intention of getting back into posting regularly. Well, that didn’t exactly work out. I was going through a small blogging slump at the beginning of the month and then once I started my Bone Season reread I became immersed in it. I think it’s safe to say that anytime a book in that series is published I’ll fall off the face of the earth(or blogosphere) that month. That aside, I read so much and I’m really happy about it! It was a month full of getting reacquainted with my all time favorite book series.

The Pale Dreamer (The Bone Season #0.5) by Samantha Shannon
(5/5)
I read but decided against reviewing the novella because I didn’t have enough to say. I adored it though. It was a cute read and I really enjoyed seeing a younger Paige first finding her footing in the Seven Seals. I definitely wouldn’t mind more novellas. Maybe one in Jaxon or Warden’s point of view? The further we get in the series the more I want a peek into their heads. 🙈

This is probably obvious but The Song Rising was definitely my favorite read for February. I’m in major book hangover mode right now because of that book. It was so good! The two year wait was torture but worth it. Now I just really need the fourth book in my hands. I need to know what happens next!
-Haul-
Guess who has stuck to her ‘I’ll only buy a book if I’m going to read it soon’ plan? Me! I’m so proud of myself because I only bought one book in February. I definitely eyed a couple of books but I didn’t let myself buy them.

Actually, it’s not my birthday but March is my blog’s birthday. This little blog is turning a year old this month! I seriously can’t believe it’s almost been a year since I first ventured onto the blogosphere. I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet. I was planning a giveaway but money is tight right now so I probably won’t be able to do that. However, I do know that I want to do another Q&A to include with whatever I do end up doing. So, if you have any questions for me leave them in the comments on here. 💕
Aside from blogiversary stuff I have a few recommendation posts planned for March that I’m really excited about. Other than that and reviews I’m just kind of winging it on the blogging front posting wise right now, working my way out of my slump.
-TBR-
March is going to be the first month I’m attempting a solid, can’t deviate from, TBR in a long time. Blood Rose Rebellion and The Inexplicable Logic of My Life are both review books. Both of which I’ve been hearing a lot of mixed things about so I’m worried/hesitant to read them. Have any of you guys read them? What did you think? As for The Struggle and A Darker Shade of Magic, the first is a book that is one of my highly anticipated releases for this year and the second is a book that I’ve been meaning to get around to for a very long time. I am especially excited for The Struggle because the ending of the previous book was a cliffhanger and I need to know what happens! (I swear 2016 was the year when almost every series book I read ended in a cliffhanger.)
I hope all of you guys had an incredible February and have an even better March!
Also, who else is really excited for Beauty and the Beast? I can’t wait! 🌹
What books did you read in February? What was your favorite?
Did you have a good blogging month or just a good month in general?
What do you plan on reading in March?

I’ve been meaning to read The Bone Season for SO long. I think it’s been on my shelf or three or four years 🙈 I’m glad to see you enjoyed it! I’ll definitely have to try and get to it soon. I’m suuper excited for you to read A Darker Shade of Magic!! I have an ARC of The Inexplicable Logic too and I can’t wait to get to it.
Also happy blog birthday 🎉🎉 It’s so exciting to reach the year mark!!
Some questions:
What’s been the most challening part of blogging for you?
Did you expect to be where you are now when you first started your blog?
What are some upcoming releases that you’re excited for?
Current favourite song?

I can’t wait to finally read ADSOM! I’ve been putting it off for way to long lol. And I hope we both end up enjoying The Inexplicable Logic of My Life!
Thanks so much!! It really is and I can’t wait to answer your questions. 😁💕

Yes! It was probably my best reading month in a long time. And you should so read TBS when you get the chance. It’s a fantastic series so far, especially if you’re into the whole fantasy/dystopia mix. But I feel you on wishing you could read faster lol.
Thanks so much! 💕😊

I’m happy to hear you had a lovely reading month, Melissa! 🙂 I’m eager to know what you think about King’s Cage. I haven’t bought it yet because I wasn’t that big of a fan of Glass Sword, so I’m a bit nervous – but still curious about what happens next.
I already read The Inexplicable Logic of My Life, I got lucky enough to get an ARC and I really enjoyed it. It was a bit slow, mostly character-centered and there is basically no plot, but otherwise it was a pretty enjoyable read 🙂

See, I wasn’t a big fan of Glass Sword either. I remember nearly DNFing it at one point so I’m a bit worried about reading King’s Cage as well. I was actually spoiled for part of it and was not happy with the spoiler. 😖
And that’s good to hear about The Inexplicable Logic of My Life 😊! I’m nearly half way through it at the moment and haven’t completely made up my mind. Some parts I’m enjoying and then some I’m eh about.

Ohhh really? That’s too bad you were spoiled
I hope you’ll still enjoy reading it, I will look forward to your review to help me decide whether to read it or not 🙂
I understand, at some moments I felt like it was a bit, long?

I hope so too and I’ll definitely have a review up once I read and finish it. 😊
Yeah, it feels like it drags at times. I have 160 something pages left of it to read at the moment and that among other things have me feeling very mixed about it.

It’s so funny seeing you mention The Bone Season which I currently have on my shelves at home in the old editions cuz last night I was @ the Bookstore eyeing the new editions smh. I stopped myself from purchasing them…well Gretchen stopped me but yea LOL! It’s at the top of my list for this year but if I ❤ the 1st book, I know I will go out & get the new covers *no shame* smh.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on The Inexplicable Logic of My Life. My fave read of February had to be Daughter of the Pirate King, it was a blast! just what I needed 😉
March is looking hella busy on books/reviews. I'm currently reading The Roanoke Girls (creepy pervy as hell) & up next is You're Welcome, Universe both of which come out next Tuesday so *eeeeeK* Happy reading Melissa! ❤

😂😂 I’ve actually been eyeing the new covers myself! I’m pretty sure once the new one is released in paperback I’ll end up buying all three in the new covers and doing the same for each release LOL. But yes! You so need to read TBS! I’m such a book pusher when it comes to that series but I just really love it and want everyone else to read it 😂. I hope that you do enjoy it whenever you get to reading it. 💕
I need to check out Daughter of the Pirate King! I keep seeing it everywhere. And I really can’t wait to see your thoughts on You’re Welcome, Universe because I’m excited for that book. I wish I had time to read it this month. Happy reading to you too Lilly!! 😊💕

The covers are stunning! this series is at the very top of my priority even if it is just to start it off lol. Daughter of the Pirate King was so much that I’m super excited to see that it is a series cuz I wasn’t ready to close the chapter on these characters. So far I am absolutly LOVING You’re Welcome Universe & the many illustrations that come with it make it so unique. Thank you Melissa 😉

I just wrote this whole comment out once and then my internet went down and I lost it all 😦 I have an incredibly crappy internet connection is what I learnt from this and I am not impressed at all.
Anyways. It seems like you had a great reading month in February. Also I love how all the books you read/reread ended up being five star reads for you, but then again I wouldn’t expect anything else from The Bone Season series! 😀 You’re making me want to go back and re-read the whole series right this second.
It sucks you’re in a bit of a reading slump at the moment, especially seeing that you have A Darker Shade of Magic on your to-read list for this month. I really hope you enjoy it because then that’s another series we can fangirl over.
Congratulations on your one year blogiversary, that’s such an amazing acheivement. My questions are below for you and also yes I am so excited for the Beauty and the Beast film! 😀
+ Other than The Bone Season what has been the best book/series you’ve discovered thanks to blogging
+ What has been the best part of your blogging journey so far (other than reaching your one year blogiversary)
+ What is your favourite post that you’ve published?
+ If you could travel to any location, real or fictional, where would you go and why?
+ What has been the strangest dream you’ve had?
+ Do you have any interesting pans for next year blogging on Book Nerd Momo?
Congratulations again on reaching one year Melissa. Also I hope you have an amazing March! 😀 ❤

Oh no about your internet. I can relate though because we’ve been having the same problem with our connection. It probably goes down multiple times a day and it sucks. 😖
Yes! Feb was so much fun as far as reading goes. Not only the most I’ve read in a while but the most fun I’ve had reading because rereading TBS was great. You should so reread them soon! I swear the more I reread the series the more I love it.
More of a blogging slump than a reading slump. I’ve been lacking on post inspiration/motivation beyond reviews and tags. But yes! ADSOM is one of the ones I’m most excited to read this month and I really do hope I end up enjoying it as much as you. I will definitely be coming to you to fangirl if I do. 😁
Thanks so much, Beth!! ♥ I can’t wait to answer your questions. Especially the dream one because I almost always have strange dreams. 😂 I hope you have a great March too!!

It always seems to crash during the worst possible moment. Kind of like it knows when I need the internet and immediately goes down.
That’s great to hear, it’s always wonderful when you have months like that and reading is such a pure joy for you because it’s an old favourite series of yours. I felt the same reading TSR and probably will when I go back and reread TBS and TMO.
Oh that’s a shame, but here’s hoping you’ll come out of your slump soon either way. I’m sure it won’t last you too long. 🙂
You’ll have to let me know as soon as you start/finish that book, and either way I’ll be looking forwards to seeing your review for it.
That’s all right. I’ll be looking forwards to seeing your answers for them in that case. Thanks Melissa! 😀 ❤

Same! I’ll be getting on to work or blog and suddenly no internet. Yesterday was the worst because every time I went to get on it went out.
Definitely. Plus, it being a favorite made it feel like a month full of no pressure reads since I feel like most of mine this year have been ARCs so far. It really showed me that I need to take a break from NetGalley for a while lol.
I hope so. 😊
Will do! As soon as I finish my current read I’m actually planning to start it. 😁
You’re welcome!! ♥

Most times I can manage, and most times it’s a case of turning it off and back on again. But a few years back there were days when we had no internet access. It was hell.
Yeah I only have one ARC on my to-read list at the moment so it’s kind of nice to read books I want rather than ones I need to read for reviews.
Very excited to see what you think of it in that case! 😀 ❤

That’s how we fix ours too, turning it off then back on. We had the company send someone out here once only to be told it had to do with where we lived. 😣
I only have one of mine too and I’m procrastinating on reading it because of all the bad reviews I’ve seen. I still have some time though. 😊

It seems to be working better now, here’s hoping it stays that way. There’s nothing more annoying than trying to blog and not having an internet connection for it!
Oh that’s a shame, but here’s hoping you enjoy it despite the bad reviews (I normally try and avoid reviews until I’ve read books for that reason actually.)

I completely agree! And yeah here’s to hoping it ends up surprising me and I like it. I usually avoid reviews too but accidentally saw one while browsing a blog. 🙈
Guess what I started last night? ADSOM! I am loving it so much and asking myself why I put it off for so long. The world building and just everything. Nearly all I did today besides working was read because I didn’t want to put it down. 😍

I occasionally read review, I actually spotted a major spoiler for one of the books I read really excited for a few years back and ended up being really disappointed that I’d spoiled myself like that. I tend to avoid reviews from now on out because of that.
Yes that’s amazing!!! 😀 😀 😀
Now I just need you to speed through the rest of the series so I can talk to you about all the rest. Also when you get to the end of the second book and see the cliffhanger spare a thought for me having to wait a whole year for ACOL to find out how it ends. 😀

I didn’t really read a lot of reviews before blogging but once I started reading them I definitely learned that more often than not I should avoid reviews for books I’m really excited for.
Well I’m half way through ADSOM now and things are really starting to pick up. Funny thing is I didn’t even notice how slow the beginning was because I so immersed in it. We are so going to have to talk about it in depth once I finish the book!
😂😂 Will do! I know the pains of torturous cliffhangers. It’s no fun waiting for the next book after them.

I’ve taken to doing that as well. Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever really read a lot of reviews, sometimes I don’t even read the blurb of books I’m super super excited for
That is the sign of a good book, and yes let me know what you think as soon as you finish it. I love out in depth discussions on books so I’m looking forwards to one on ADSOM!
No, never fun but it keeps you hooked! 🙂

I really can’t wait until I’m able to start ADSOM! I’m thinking about foregoing Blood Rose Rebellion and just jumping into ADSOM LOL. I can’t wait to see your thoughts on ACOL once I finish the books. 😁
I’m actually not sure of the exact date because I didn’t post on the day or even the week I created my blog. It’s sometime in the middle of March. I’m kind of in awe over the world building at the moment because it was so heavy but at the same time I didn’t even realize the beginning was slow because I was so immersed in it. And then Lila! I loved her right away. She was all *burns down ship* and then I was all “Yep she’s my new favorite!” and I’m loving Kell too and I don’t even know where to start with everything else because I haven’t really gathered my thoughts beyond being in awe of it. Congrats to your 1 year blogging anniversary Melissa!! I hope you had fun and will continue blogging for many years to come 🙂 You write really good reviews and the book community need your inputs (and money buying hard-to-pass-up books! lol) I also have the Rose Rebellion ARC and have noticed some very low ratings on Goodreads. I haven’t attempt reading it yet. I do really want to read A Darker Shade of Magic too. I’m happy to see all of your 5 stars for the Bone Season series.
Questions to consider for Q&A:
Is your review different in each book or do you follow the same guidelines?
Do you ever read a book a day?
How do you know which new book to add to your TBR?
What make you decide to buy a book?
