How has it been six months already!?

Six months ago I was kind of lost. I had just quit a terrible job, couldn’t figure out how I was going to go to school and had way too much free time on my hands. All I had during that time to keep me occupied was my books, which I had no one to talk to about. Thus, BookNerdMomo was born! It’s been quite the journey and has consisted of a lot of trial and error (which is still an ongoing thing) but I’m so glad I’ve kept up with it. Also, I got myself a new job along the way and figured out school! (YAY!)

Plus, getting a chance to be a part of this book blogging community has been an honor. In all the years that I’ve been in different fandoms on the internet, I don’t think I’ve ever come across such a supportive and cohesive group of people. The amount of love and respect we all have for each other is incredible and while it isn’t always perfect I wouldn’t want to be a part of any other online community. It’s been a joy and I’ve made so many amazing friends!

I love all of you guys and to be honest this blog would not have lasted long without you.

Q&A

I couldn’t come up with a good ‘theme’ for this six-months post as I feel like a lot of the ideas I was coming up with had already been done and I completely agreed with everything that was said each time I saw them done. So, I figured now was as good a time as any to pull out the Q&A card that I’ve never used and let you guys ask me questions! I’ll be making a separate post in a few days to answer them. Ask me anything you want! 😊♥

Here’s to this past six months of blogging and to the next! (And hopefully many more to come.)

  1. When did you start writing your blog? Why did you start? What is your all time favourite book? What is the last book you read? How many books are on your reading challenge for this year? Where are you from? How old are you? Do you have any pets? What do you study? How many books do you own? What was the last book you bought? What was the last book someone gave you as a gift? What are your blog plans for the future? Where do you see yourself in few years? Do you plan your blog posts ahead? Hahaha, I hope I didn’t write down too many questions 😁

  2. OOOOH ! Happy six months ❤ and here's to many more months/years/decades/centuries. Sorry I got carried away hahaha. So for the questions now:
    – How has blogging changed your reading habits as well as your life in general?
    – What are your Top 5 reads of 2016?
    – What are some of your short terms goals for the blog?

  3. I’m so out of it today. I wrote this super long comment and then hit something and it disappeared. Grr! Anyway, Happy Blogiversary “almost” blogiversary twin! 🤗🎉🎈🍾 I love reading about how you started your blog. I was in such a funk when I started mine, and since I’m a writer and reader, I thought, why not? I had no clue about blogging though or that the book community was so small and tight-knit. It’s really great though. You have a signed copy of a CoHo book get out of town! That’s awesome! ❤️ I remember when you were reading it and I was asking you on Twitter how it was going and you were dying over it. That book is her best! 🙌 This is a great giveaway. I’m going to mull over some questions for you while I eat my salad and I’ll be back. 🙂

    • Oh no. That’s happened to me before and I hate when it does 😫.

Thank you “almost” blogiversary twin 💕! Same. This blog was the perfect outlet for writing and reading for me. Although, I’ve still not gotten up the courage to post my own writing on here. Hopefully I will one day 😊. I had no clue either! It was kind of daunting at first because I’d assumed it was be big and scary and hard to keep up with. Some times that last fact is true but I enjoy the fact that it really is more of a small tight-knit community, like you said. In comparison to others anyway. Yes! I actually got the one I’m giving away at the signing I went to specifically for this purpose. And the fact that I loved it so much that I want to spread that love of it to someone else ♥️. I remember that 😂! I was definitely dying over it and I’m still not even over it at all. IT WAS SO GOOD! It really is her best 🙌🏻. Thank you and I can’t wait for your questions! 😄

      • That’s so cool. I’d love to meet CoHo! She’s one of my favorite authors. So I got crazy last night after I ate my salad and started taking Bookstagram pics. I literally setup a photo studio in my living room. I’m crazy. Lol. Anyways, here’s my questions:

-As a writer, have you ever thought of writing a story based on your life? If not, what title would you give a story about your life if someone were to write it for you.
        – What fictional character(s) accurately fits your personality. (Mine is Holly Golightly and Katniss Everdeen😉)
        – If you were a contestant in The Hunger Games, what would be your first instinct and how would you survive? Would you be declared the victor?
-If you awoke inside the box from The Mazer Runner, what would be your first instinct when the Gladers opened it?
        – If you could choose the winner of the Game of Thrones, which character that’s currently alive would you choose?

I can’t wait to read your answers. I couldn’t make them about blogging. 😂😝😎 Haha! Enjoy! 🙂

      • She’s one of my favorites too! I hope you get to meet her one day. Honestly, she is hilarious and the most down to earth person. I officially need to go follow you on bookstagram so I can see these pictures! Nah, I’d do that too if I was able too 😂. Once I lugged 30+ books outside for one picture and made my little sister help me. I so can’t wait to answer your questions! I love them, especially the last one. I always have so much to say about GoT. Although, I haven’t read the books yet. I’m trying to hold out for the last one before I dive into them. 🙈

      • That would be so awesome if I met her. She seems so cool. Ha! I’m about to load all of my Bookstagram pics tomorrow. I’m still editing some of them. I have a few that I’m seriously proud of right now, and I normally am not the greatest pic taker. I’m glad you like my questions. I was afraid you’d be like I never read The Hunger Games, and then I’d have to die of shock. 😂 Game of Thrones one should be cool. I always love to read people’s thoughts on who will win. Dany has always been my pick. Love her!

      • Well I can’t wait to see them 😄! Never, I loved that series so much. The Hunger Games takes the top spot in books I’ve read so many times that I’ve lost count. I was obsessed with it for the longest time! I’m always shocked when I hear someone hasn’t read them too though because there was a time where it seemed like everyone was. They even made it a required reading in schools here at one point. I shall not reveal my answer yet 🤐😂. I love Dany too though! She’s one of my favorites. 😊

      • I need to read that series! Every time I’ve turned around this year someone has been talking about it. I should add it to my ‘must read before the end of 2016’ list and hope I get to it. My answers to your questions are so long. I loved answering them though and I can’t wait until you see them. I’ve drafted half of my Q&A already and it’s 2000+ words so I’m thinking I’m going to have to split it into two parts. 😂

      • Red Rising is a must. 🙌 You’ll love it. Any fan of THG will love it. Ha! I bet those are some long answers. I can’t wait to read them. I still need to type up the answers for my Q&A. I’ve been so lazy this whole weekend. Don’t mind me I was just taking pics of my books. 🙈 A lot of bloggers split their Q&A into two parts. I will also have to do that with mine.

      • I’m betting I will with what I’ve heard. I’ve been dying for a good dystopia type novel because it’s been a while since I’ve read one 😊. I’ve been lazy too except my lazy was in the form of marathoning a bunch of movies 😂. I watched Saving Private Ryan for the first time and it was so good. I kept being like “Okay Melissa you need to go blog and draft that Q&A!” but movies haha. A part of me was hoping I could squeeze it into one post but nope lol.

      • I did nothing of any value this weekend. I should’ve been writing my Q&A answers. I just started working on them. I definitely need to do a part 1 and 2. I have 33 questions for a total of 592 words and that’s not including any of my answers. 😂 Damn, I got a ways to go. This is crazy.

        Liked by 1 person

      • I didn’t either 😂. I actually just finished drafting my Q&A and still have to edit, add links, and then split it into two parts. I’m determined to have part one up today though! Mine all together questions + answers is almost 3,000 words 😶. So many words lol. I can’t wait to see your Q&A once you finish it! 😊

        Liked by 1 person

      • I haven’t had time to write a single answer down yet. I’ve been crazy busy trying to move to Florida. It’s madness. I didn’t get to sit down once today. I’ll look out for your answers. I better go start working on mine. 😂 Thanks! 🙂

  4. Congratulations on your sixth month blogiversary Melissa! Here’s to another six months, and then another, and then another. It’s been great talking to you and I really love your blog so it’s been great getting to know you. ❤
    Questions:
+ If you could have any of your most anticipated releases in your hands right now what one would you pick?
+ What has been your best/proudest moment as a blogger?
+ How do you manage blogging alongside your outside life?
+ If you could travel anywhere in this world, or a fictional world, where would you choose to go?
+ If you could meet one character face to face who would you pick?

    • Oh no. I think the spambot has put you in spam jail now too because it showed up in my spam folder. Akismet has been doing that to a lot of people lately. I think WordPress needs to update those spam filters already! Dx

Awww thank you, Beth!! It’s been great talking with you and getting to know you too! I love your blog as well and I enjoy our daily random and bookish conversations. 😃♥
I love your questions! (I bet you can guess the answer to the first one 🙈😂.) I can’t wait to answer them! 😊

I’m so glad you did start one, because I love reading your posts and your reviews! 🙂 That is so awesome you are giving away a CoHo book, and especially It Ends With Us! I made sure to get an extra when I went to the signing for this – not only because I want everyone to read it but also for those who couldn’t get a signed copy. I’m glad you were able to get one 😄! I love it too and same. 💕

  7. Wow 6 months! That’s amazing. I haven’t been following you for long but I already love your blog.
And thank you so much for 2 awesome giveaways! Here’s my question: If you could change the cover of a book, which would it be and what would you change about it?

  8. Ahh, congrats on six months Melissa 🎉🎉 It’s definitely such an exciting milestone to reach!!

I’m the worst at thinking of questions (and sorry if these have already been asked!) but:
    – What are some of your favourite songs and artists?
    – What was one thing about blogging that you weren’t expecting?
    – If you could only recommend one book to anyone what would it be?

And thanks so much for the giveaways ♥ I’m entering the Book Depository one!

  9. Congrats!!!
I’ve had my blog for a couple of months and only just learnt to tag *bangs head on wall* 😂😂😂
Although I don’t really post that much and i’m definitely not very active but you have definitely motivated me.

    Questions
    Have you listened to Hamilton?
    Recent reads?
    All time recommend books?
    5 favourite badass females?

    • Thank you!!♥
Haha that’s okay! I think it took me a while to figure that out as well. Blogging is definitely a lot of trial and error and learning new things, which can be fun at times and frustrating at others 🙈. Awwww, well I’m glad I could motivate you♥.
I really can’t wait to answer your last question. I have some good ones for that! 😊

What’s the best book you’ve read in 2016 so far? Or let’s say the three best books – who could choose one?

  11. Hi, Melissa! Happy blogiversary!!!!!! And thank you so much for celebrating it with us like this!! :O
As for the Q&A, I have a question for you: if you could live in a book, which would you pick?
Looking forward to reading that post 😀 Here’s to many more months – years, girl! – of blogging! A big hug from Argentina ^^

    • Awwww thank you 🙈♥! I’m surprised about it myself. I think it’s got to do with interacting. The more you interact the more people take notice and follow you. 😊
Definitely having fun! I’m so glad I created this blog.
