This year is just flying by!

August wasn’t such a great month for me in general – reading wise or life wise. The first half was terrible and the second half not great but not as bad as the beginning of the month was. I kind of want to erase the first half of August. (Except for the CoHo signing, I don’t want to erase that. It was the best part of August! While I didn’t read a lot this month because I hit a terrible reading slump the books I did manage to read were great. Two of them were, in fact, incredible, unforgettable reads! I even found a new favorite that I’ve actually reread twice since I first read it. I didn’t, however, stick to my TBR from last month. Oops.

I read this and then didn’t have time to sit down and actually write a review and once I did have the time I never did. But I absolutely loved it! It’s hilarious and sexy and perfect if you are in a slump or have just read a devastating book. (I read it after I read It Ends With Us.) I loved the characters and the whole story. It’s officially one of my favorites and I really want to read some of the author’s other books now.

-Favorite Read-

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, hands down! That book ripped my heart out and then served it to me on a silver platter, but I loved every second. I especially love how it started an important conversation and created this understanding about a subject that is misjudged a lot. It had me realizing things about myself that I hadn’t before. It was so powerful and as you can tell I’m still not over it. I don’t think I ever will be.

I had a lot of fun writing my discussion post for It Ends With Us. It was a good place to get all of the emotions I had toward that book out. It’s also full of spoilers. So be warned!

-Haul-

I went a bit crazy this month and bought a lot of books. What is a book buying ban and does it really exist!?  salem-noselfcontrol

I also received a few books from a few giveaways and through a review request!

In my defense some of those books I bought were only .99! I have a problem with buying .99 books on my Kindle. 🙈

It’s almost Autumn! I am ready for cooler weather, sweaters, boots, and the leaves changing colors. I’m also ready for my six months of blogging (in Septemberand my birthday (in October). Plus there are so many books that I’m excited for!

This month my TBR is going to be books I have to read and review before October. Mostly, there’s one that I don’t have to read this month but hope to get to anyway. I’ve been putting most of these off until now so the reviews could be closer to the release days so I’m really excited. 😃

As I mentioned above, my six month blogiversary is in September.

Can you believe it’s been six months since I started this blog!? Because I can’t.

Anyway! I have something special planned for my blogiversary that I’ll be sharing with you guys on or around September 15th. So, be on the look out for that. 😊

What books did you read this month? What was your favorite?

Did you have a good blogging month or just a good month in general?

What do you plan on reading in September?

I hope all of you had a lovely August and have an even better September!

    • I’m glad I’m not the only one! Seriously I have zero self control when it comes to buying books and I really need to learn some because my bank is weeping lol.

Yes! Definitely to a better September! I hope you have a better month as well. 😊

SWEATER WEATHER IS MY FAVORITE WEATHER! Sometimes I think I have more fall/winter clothes than anything else. 🙈

I can’t wait to reveal it!! It’s not anything really glamorous but I’ve been planning it for a while so I’m excited! 😃

  3. I keep hearing about It Ends With Us and I keep slapping myself silly for not reading it! But alas, I’m on a self-imposed reading ban and I also banned myself from buying books. I guess that one will have to wait.

Anyway. This is such a great wrap-up post. It sucks your August wasn’t so great, but here’s to an even better September!

    • I can’t believe I didn’t see this until now! The horrible WP spam filter strikes again – it keeps marking people that are not spam as spam. It’s even happening to me. 😣

It really is an incredible book! As soon as you lift your bans you should so snatch it up and devour it lol. I look forward to hearing what you end up thinking of it when you get the chance to get around to it!

Thank you and definitely to a better September♥! I hope yours turns out amazing as well. 😊

  4. I’m sorry August wasn’t a good month for you, I hope September is a lot better! But you still got through some good books despite that! I really need to read some of Colleen Hoovers books at some point!
Also I love your haul for this month as well. Some of the books your bought are favourites of mine (Nevernight, A Torch Against the Night, Throne of Glass) so I really hope you enjoy them! 🙂

    • Thank you and I hope so too! ♥

You so should! I have a feeling you’d really enjoy some of them and if you ever do get around to picking up one I can’t wait to hear what you think. 😃

Thank you! I’m really excited to read them. I actually started Nevernight but it was during my post IEWU reading slump so I didn’t get far. I wasn’t in the mood for a slow build book. Though I did enjoy what I read so I’m hoping to pick it back up soon. As for ToG and A Torch Against the Night (as well as the first book) I have a binge reading fest planned lol. I hope I end up enjoying them too! 😊

      • I have a few of her books on my to-read list, just a matter of me actually getting around to them! I’ll have a review up when I have read one though so you’ll be able to see what I think! 🙂
Oh that’s a shame about Nevernight, but at least you’re going to give it another go. It’s a good book if you’re in the mood for it.
Whoo for the reading binge! I’m definitely planning on going on one of those soon! 😀

      • Well I’m looking forward to it! 😊

It really is, especially with how hyped I was for it. But my attention span was shot by that reading slump lol. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it though so I am definitely picking it back up at some point.

YAY for binge reading fests! 😃

        Liked by 1 person

      • Exactly! I mostly am! I’m actually reading at this point even though it’s been really slow reading lol. The binge reading is sure to get me out of it completely. I’m actually having to forcefully keep myself away from ToG at this point because review books.

      • I’ve been reading quite slowly recently as well. It can be hard to manage time can’t it; reading and blogging and commenting as well as day to day life and all.
I hope the binge works then, and hopefully you’ll be able to get around to the Throne of Glass books soon and won’t need to force yourself away from them! 😀

        Liked by 1 person

      • It really can! Sometimes I have to make certain days ‘no blogging’ days just so I can take the extra time to finish up school stuff or finish a book. There’s just not enough hours in the day lol.

I hope so too on both points! 😃

        Liked by 1 person

    • Thank you and I hope so too! ♥😊

They really are! If only reading slumps didn’t exist lol.

I hope so too! I’ve heard a lot of great things about it and so far I’m enjoying it. Though it’s definitely different from what I usually read as I’m not much of a mystery person when it comes to books.
