Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event/post hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that someone is eagerly anticipating!
This week I’m spotlighting Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland, which I happened to win an ARC of last week so I’m also extremely excited about that. Ever since I read the synopsis for this I’ve been dying to get my hands on it. This year hasn’t been a big contemporary year for me. Don’t get me wrong there are a ton that I want to read, but I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy. However, this is one that I’m going to have to read ASAP.
Release Date: September 6th, 2016
Genre: YA, Contemporary, Romance
Henry Page has never been in love. He fancies himself a hopeless romantic, but the slo-mo, heart palpitating, can’t-eat-can’t-sleep kind of love that he’s been hoping for just hasn’t been in the cards for him—at least not yet. Instead, he’s been happy to focus on his grades, on getting into a semi-decent college and finally becoming editor of his school newspaper. Then Grace Town walks into his first period class on the third Tuesday of senior year and he knows everything’s about to change.
Grace isn’t who Henry pictured as his dream girl—she walks with a cane, wears oversized boys’ clothes, and rarely seems to shower. But when Grace and Henry are both chosen to edit the school paper, he quickly finds himself falling for her. It’s obvious there’s something broken about Grace, but it seems to make her even more beautiful to Henry, and he wants nothing more than to help her put the pieces back together again. And yet, this isn’t your average story of boy meets girl. Krystal Sutherland’s brilliant debut is equal parts wit and heartbreak, a potent reminder of the bittersweet bliss that is first love.
Guess who finished her first final paper for college!? Me! I officially have one more week of this term then it’s a two-week break before my next class. I haven’t just been MIA because of school though I’ve also been MIA because I’ve been in a review slump. (Is that even a thing?) After I finished the Sweet Evil trilogy I reread a few books and then rushed into this series that I liked but didn’t love. I sat down to write a review for it and nothing. So, I didn’t review it. Besides that, I’ve been rereading a lot because I haven’t had time to write a full review on anything new.
BUT August brings the release of several books I’m really excited for and my break from school so hopefully my review game picks back up! 😄
I also have a lot of awards and tags to catch up on that I’m going to try to stuff into that two-week break. So, if you’ve tagged me in anything don’t worry I’ll try to have them posted asap. 😊
What books are you excited for!?
If you do Waiting on Wednesday link me to your post so I can see. 😄
